Project Friendly Fashion: Reducing the Effects of the Fast Fashion Industry

Woodland Hills Academy Humanities Magnet

A school-wide initiative to help reduce the fashion industry’s negative impacts on the environment and people.

Fast Fashion is an increasing issue in the world that causes global environmental problems. For example, air and water pollution, severe water and power usage, and excess waste. Project Friendly Fashion has a multi-faceted plan of action: a website with information and resources to educate, social media to spread awareness, and an Earth Day event. During the Earth Day event, Project Friendly Fashion will repair and reuse clothes as well as spread awareness on how the fast fashion industry impacts the world with not only environmental issues, but also social justice problems.
